Trump: More Pipelines More Oil to Achieve “Energy Dominance”

Expanding the U.S. energy industry to achieve what Trump has called “energy dominance” has played a key role both the president’s domestic and foreign policies. Record oil and gas production, led by Texas, has not only meant lower energy costs for businesses and consumers, but also given the administration more leeway in targeting sanctions at oil-producing nations such as Venezuela and Iran with fear of spikes in oil prices.

The United States is producing about 12 million barrels of oil a day — nearly half from Texas — surpassing both Saudi Arabia and Russia.
